Chembra Peak, Wayanad-Kerala

Indeed! Chembra Peak is one of the beautiful hill in south India! Hike up in the rugged terrains of Chembra peak, Wayanad is been located 2100 meters above the sea level and it is the tallest peak and is an ideal for trekking. There is a heart shaped lake on the way and it is believed to have never dried up, is a major tourist attraction here. And hence it is an ideal place for one-day treks and two-day wildlife treks. You can as well have a group trek of up to ten people or hike on your own accompanied by a tourist guide. The prior permission from the Meppady forest is been mandatory here before taking up a trek to reach Chembra peak and for the trekking activities.

Chembra Peak stands tall beyond the tea plantations and the lush green landscapes.It starts amidst tea plantations and gradually takes you in the forest and surreal surroundings. The trek begins a bit steep after you find the lovely heart shaped lake as the gentle wind would create ripples in the water. Further, in the trek, you reach a point where clouds were almost at the same height as us! The beauty is that! You know Chembra peak stands tall, protruding above the clouds and leaves you a gorgeous view of beautiful landscapes stretched till the horizons. As it strikes evening you can start descending down and supposed to trek down before the rain starts.
